“I want to talk about how you can survive without destroying yourself in the process and that when you do survive, there’s something left.”
― Afeni Shakur
The purpose of this newsletter is to remind you to take care of yourself, your creativity, and your community. Why this focus? Because when we pour out, we’re ALL pouring from a very specific place. When we create, we’re all creating from a very specific place. If you don’t take care of the foundational space that is you, you’ll always end up short.
In the coming weeks, I’ll be sharing more of what to expect from this newsletter and how I want to invite you to share your best practices and approaches to care and community.
We’re in this together,
Melissa, founder of #blkcreatives
Simone Biles, Naomi Osaka, and the Revolutionary Power of Black Women’s Rest
